Husband and wife team, Curt & Lisa Oellerich collectively have 20 years of experience in the landscape industry. While Curt handles the large retaining wall projects that are our specialty, Lisa handles the majority of the design and planting projects.

The landscaping portion of the business encompasses a wide range of services:

Quality is very important to our business. When working with retaining walls and paver projects, starting and maintaining a level work surface is imperative. Not spending enough time on this step will result in a project that will not withstand the freeze-thaw cycle of northern Illinois and will require repair in a very short time. Doing this step correctly is the key to the maintenance free projects we are known for.

In addition to heavy landscape construction, we also perform lawn mowing, shrub trimming and landscape maintenance. Since very few plantings are maintenance-free, we design our installs with low-maintenance plant products. Through our experience at both the garden center and on-site, we rigorously screen out products that have not performed well. We have found that if we struggle with a certain plant, the average homeowner will be not be happy with it either. Most home-owners do not want to spend a lot of time caring for their landscaping; they want to spend their time enjoying it!

We also retail bulk mulch in a variety of colors and textures. Mulch may be loaded into customer trucks or trailers, or delivered. Current mulch colors are red, gold, chocolate brown, natural shredded and double ground chip. While our new shop is under construction, mulch is available for sale at 310 W. Main St (our former garden center) in Lena on Fridays and Saturdays.
